What Does True JOY Feel Like?
True joy feels like a deep, unshakable contentment that doesn't depend on circumstances. It’s the warmth that blooms in your chest when you're fully present laughing with friends, watching a sunset, holding someone you love. It’s quiet peace in chaos, a sense that life is meaningful even when imperfect. Unlike fleeting happiness, which comes and goes with external events, joy runs deeper—it’s calm in your soul, a steady pulse of gratitude and wonder. True joy is an unwavering gladness rooted in God’s presence, not dependent on circumstances. It is the soul’s delight in knowing, loving, and trusting the Lord. Psalm 16:11 declares, “In Your presence is fullness of joy.” Unlike fleeting happiness, joy in Christ endures through trials (James 1:2-3), fuelled by faith and the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22). It reflects peace, contentment, and hope, anchored in the truth that we are loved, redeemed, and destined for eternity with God. Jesus said in John 15:11, “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” True joy is both a gift and a fruit, it flows from God and grows as we walk with Him.
